The Invisible Wall – Harry Bernstein

The Invisible Wall – Harry BernsteinThis is a memoir of a struggling Jewish family during the beginning of World War I. Harry’s father earns very little money and spends most of what he has on alcohol while Harry’s mother tried to care for her 5 children during these difficult times. One of Harry’s sisters does the unthinkable and falls in love with a Christian boy. The story shows the difficult choices his family must make and the secrets they keep. And interesting story, reminds me of the book Angela’s Ashes.

Harry Bernsteing is an excellent writer and The Dream - the next book in his autobiographical series - is well worth reading! Joseph from
